Research is central in every aspect at the University of Strathclyde, playing a vital role in the University’s teaching and learning practices.
The Faculty of Science has five departments:
Strathclyde Online courses are delivered through MyPlace virtual learning environment (VLE).
The University has invested in and designed MyPlace to provide the same high-quality learning experience the University offers its on-campus students.
All assessments are undertaken online, from large-scale major projects to oral presentations and end-of-module tasks. The Faculty of Science has designed its online courses to be as flexible as possible while providing the quality learning experience that Strathclyde is renowned for.
All online graduates are invited to attend the university graduation ceremony held in Glasgow with their on-campus peers.
Mathematics & Statistics
The University of Strathclyde is a research university comprising four schools- Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business and Science. It is the only University in the UK to win The Times University of the Year twice.
Established in 1796 by Professor John Anderson ‘for the good of mankind’ and to be ‘the place of useful learning’, Strathclyde is the only higher education institution established in Scotland during the Enlightenment.
