Arden describes its online learning platform as a university in the cloud. Its dedicated platform recreates the on-campus experience through virtual learning experiences. It hosts online classrooms and lectures as well as a full suite of digital resources from recorded lectures to a complete digital university library.
As you progress through the course, you interact with the tutor and fellow students in live seminars and one-to-one tutor sessions via zoom.
ilearn is the name of the digital learning platform developed by Arden to be a university campus on the cloud. As well as the digital learning environments, the platform has an online community section, Unitu, that hosts student community groups. Throughout a student’s studies, there is a varied calendar of online events to participate in, from online coffee mornings to workshops and presentations by guest lecturers.
Arden University began in 1990 as a family-owned business providing distance learning programmes direct to companies. As its size grew, it partnered with several UK universities to validate its courses. In 2014 the business was awarded degree awarding powers and became Arden University in 2015.
Arden Universities believes that everyone everywhere has a right to Higher Education. Arden is a teaching university that focuses on subjects and qualifications that industry demand. A large number of their courses are endorsed with additional accreditation from professional bodies.
The university teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It has a wide range of top-up degrees and MBAs that specialise in specific areas.
Arden focuses on making Higher Education accessible to all and providing professional development opportunities. It does this by offering flexible study options on all its courses. It also keeps costs for students lower than many traditional universities. In addition, it also provides lower fees via its international scholarship programme for students from eligible regions.
Arden is a recognised body in the UK. This means that it has degree awarding powers as granted by the UK government to only 145 organisations in the UK. Arden has the power to award internationally recognised undergraduate and postgraduate certification.
In addition, Arden has partnered with a wide range of professional bodies that give additional accreditation to individual courses.
All of Ardens courses can be completed full-time and part-time. They offer very flexible options for students to spread the study out over the time they have available. When students are on the course, they also provide the option for study breaks for when life events mean that study is not possible.
Arden online library has an impressive collection of half a million e-books and ten’s of thousands of journals. Arden also ensures that all the required reading lists for every course it offers are available in its online library.
When studying with Arden, you have access to tutors and a dedicated student support team for one-to-one support. Arden also runs regular workshops covering study skills in a wide range of areas such as academic writing and critical thinking.
The university holds a graduation ceremony in the UK as well as online for all online students.
