This course has been recognised by the National Youth Agency and the Endorsement and Quality Standards Board for Community Development Learning, all of which demonstrate that it will help you attain skills that support youth and communities as well as face the challenges of social justice. If you want to pursue a profession in education, sexual health, housing, and/or mental health, De Montfort University’s curriculum is a great choice.
Youth work, parental education, children’s centres, sexual health, substance addiction, housing and homelessness, youth justice, mental health, community development, and domestic violence are all represented within the programme.
Topics such as community development, anti-oppressive practise, and health and social research methodologies will be explored on this show. You will also be expected to utilise your theoretical and practical skills by incorporating theory into your experience by undertaking relevant work-based and specialised module components, all of which have been tailored to staff working in local governments, the NHS, non-profit, third-sector, and other voluntary and charitable organisations, ensuring your learning is in line with current practise.
