Chemical, Process and Energy Engineering is a very specific branch of engineering that has been around for more than 100 years. Chemical engineers are responsible for the design, construction and operation of industrial plants which use chemical processes to produce materials such as plastics, synthetic rubber or fertilizer. Process engineers work in a wide range of industries including refining petroleum products, pulp and paper production or food processing. They are concerned with the conversion of raw materials into intermediate or finished goods through chemical reactions; how heat energy is used during this process.
