Earth Sciences is a branch of natural science that deals with the Earth and its natural resources. It is an umbrella term for the scientific study of planets, including the earth’s composition, surface features, atmospheric processes and interactions with other objects in space.
The field can be broken down into disciplines such as meteorology (the study of weather), oceanography (the study of oceans) or seismology (the study of earthquakes). Geologists may also focus on topics like soil composition or plate tectonics.
