Course Information

The LLM/MA Diplomacy and International Law (distance learning) degree provides a strong foundation in diplomacy, foreign policy, and international law.

It is co-taught by the Law School and the Department of Politics, Philosophy, and Religion (PPR) and helps you to have a better knowledge of the social, legal, economic, and political issues that are resolving on the global arena. The Centre for Crime, Law, and Justice, the Centre for Law and Society, and the Centre for Child and Family Justice are located at Lancaster University’s Law School. These centres serve as the foundation for Lancaster University’s postgraduate education, and you will have access to the expertise of professors conducting research in the fields of politics, international relations, law, and sociology.

The dual character of your studies is ensured through the dual track for the LLM/MA. Core and optional courses from the Law School and PPR, as well as a 20,000-word dissertation, let you to follow your own interests while developing an ability to examine topics from a variety of angles.
