Through virtual learning, this part-time creative writing programme connects students from the United Kingdom and throughout the world. Students come from all over the world to learn with us, working in English but bringing a wealth of personal experience and cultural views to the course.

You will be assigned a personal teacher (an expert in your chosen genre or related subject), and Lancaster University’s online course site will include research training modules and a cybercafé for casual meetings and communication. At the end of your first year’s Summer Term, you can attend a five-day Summer School on the Lancaster University campus. This is an optional component of the course. It comprises of seminars, individual progress evaluations, and professional visits from agents, publishers, and writers.
