Access to HE Diploma in Radiography

Course Details

The Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in Radiography is a full-year qualification, designed especially for those who do not hold traditional qualifications required for university entry but who are determined to begin a career in medical imaging and diagnostic radiography.

This Diploma provides you with the essential academic foundation and subject-specific knowledge you need to progress to degree-level Radiography programmes. You will study biology, anatomy and physiology, physics, medical imaging principles, health and safety, professional practice, and related topics, all designed to align with university entry requirements.

Alongside this, you’ll develop key transferable skills – research, academic writing, critical thinking, communication, numeracy – and become familiar with the learning styles, practical assessments, and independent study needed at higher education level.

On successful completion, you will have achieved 60 credits, with the majority at Level 3. You’ll be ready to apply for Radiography degree courses (Diagnostic Radiography, Therapeutic Radiography etc.) and allied health professions that require strong science, technical understanding, and professional behaviour.

This Access to Radiography covers 16 units, which build up the full Diploma.
