About this course

Obtaining a Certificate in Higher Education (HE) in Working with Children, Young People, and Families from Anglia Ruskin University takes 16 months. Students study using a combination of tutor-led and self-directed activities and resources as they complete the course. You will learn theory that you may use to your area of practise in order to refine your abilities and develop your knowledge and understanding in preparation for a future career in the field.

You are not required to be employed in a relevant field in order to pursue this course, but you must have a strong interest in the subject matter. Youth or family support worker, early intervention social services or social work, working with local authorities, schools and educational settings, not-for-profit social enterprises such as children or youth centres, agencies or charities are just a few of the career paths that this course will lay the groundwork for during your time in this programme.
